Keeping You In Stitches

Isn’t this an adorable little sweater?  I just need to get it blocked now and that’s on Sunday’s agenda.

Pattern is from Sublime #617 and called Little Sorbet Cardie (page 8).  I used Sublime baby cashmere merino silk dk.

I’ve made this for a friend’s daughter that is expecting a little girl in August.  They won’t let me help with the names for little baby so I call her Ruby Belle!

Way back in the 60’s when I was in high school, the Beatles had just arrived.  I was the first one in the little burg we lived in to get a Ringo Starr haircut!

I’ve just made an appointment for a haircut this afternoon and told my hairdresser, “I want the Adam Lambert-do” – of course we’ll have to work the gray/white locks in to this stylish do! LOL

Those that know me….I’ll never grow up!

Dear Adam….We all know who should have won this contest; for heavens sake, it’s a singing contest!  You have proved over and over that you can sing any genre that is thrown at you!  Like one of the headlines said “Kris will win, but Adam will have the career”.  I truly believe this and certainly hope you do to.

It was so apparent that you were comfortable on stage with Kiss….and with any song.  Can’t wait for your albums to be released….I will be first in line to buy it!

Have a wonderful life and career!

A huge fan…..Nancy

PS: I feel that I failed you because I could only get through to vote for you one time…

Last week I got through 23 times to vote for Adam Lambert.  It’s been 30 minutes since we could start voting….and I can’t get through…I’m hoping that’s a good sign.

I would really like to see Kris be runner-up.

Danny is good, but for some reason, I prefer Kris over Danny.

Go Adam, go Adam, go Adam!!!

Yesterday was a most interesting day; had lunch with a former co-worker. I must say, I miss the people not the work! DUH!

However, when I arrived home, there was a package for me in the mail from a friend that said it’s an early birthday gift. (My birthday is the end of July)  Opened the front door and there was a gift bag hanging on the door knob; a birthday gift from another friend.

Since it’s a couple of months until my birthday, I’m wondering if they know something I don’t….like I’m not going to make it until my next birthday!  OMG

So now I’m on a mission to get some stuff cleared out in case I don’t make it!  Yep, garage sale shoppers get ready for some really fantastic deals!

Headed to Walgreen’s this morning to pick up a prescription that has been ready since Tuesday.

Hit the button to open the garage door and backed out – oops, crunch, crash, bang.  Mark’s car was parked there and I didn’t see it (must have been blinking or it was in my blind spot).  Just a few scrapes and gouges on my car; didn’t look at his! LMAO

So, my baby Smart car has been christened, I guess.

Mark decided to cook some country ribs on the grill today.  Mixed up a concoction of worcestershire (I looked on the bottle for the spelling!); Barb-e-que sauce and RC Cola (called for Coke but we didn’t have any and I wasn’t about to waste my precious Pepsi on something like this); cooked the hell out of these babies and they were so wonderful, fork tender, and yummy!

Thanks Markie for a great dinner!!!

Took another continental knitting class last Thursday morning at Enchanted Yarn and Fiber.  I think it clicked this time….after 3 tries, it should!

There’s a wonderful book Y Not Knit that explains it in detail with great visuals;  If you haven’t tried it, it’s the best way to knit if your hands hurt while knitting.

I don’t know where I think my knitting needles are going, but I have a death grip on them and this certainly takes away any soreness after knitting.

Try it, give it a chance….you’ll like it and your hands will thank you for it!

Since the painter is finishing up painting in the living room and that’s pretty much off limits, I was confined to the computer room, sewing room, and kitchen.  I chose to spend my time in the sewing room.

Didn’t this turn out gorgeous?  It’s life-like when you see it in person.  Wonderful detail, etc.

I’m such a leopard print person!

Hubby just headed back to work after a quick lunch (NOT A QUICKIE).  As he was leaving, I asked what he’d like for dinner….his reply was “Nothing, I have to mow tonight!”

Am I the luckiest woman in the world today – I don’t have to cook dinner!!!
