What most people don’t understand is that Medicare isn’t free. We all pay into that fund our whole lives, then, when we turn sixty-five we pay $96.40 each month which is deducted from our Social Security check before we see it in order to pay the monthly premium for Part B. We are responsible for either obtaining a Medicare Supplement policy to pay the deductibles and co-pays or for paying those our of pocket. Part D also has a monthly premium, co-pays and in some cases, deductibles.
