Yes, readers, my hubby “adopted” a giraffe for me from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (Colorado Springs) for my birthday!

                                                          IT’S THE BEST GIFT EVER!!!!

Now to plan a trip to go visit her…..have named her Lola, then changed it to Nola and for some reason this morning I woke up and her name is Tiffany!  Stay tuned for other name changes!!!

WOW!  A giraffe…..I think I’ll get busy and knit her a scarf for those snowy, winter, mountain Colorado days!

I wish someone would explain the Social Security Medicare difference….isn’t that socialism?

How can Sarah Palin state that “one term is enough”?  She didn’t complete it!!!  Or maybe in a politicians eyes, she has completed it.  Too bad we all don’t have “politicians eyes”….la, la, la, Betty Davis eyes…..

I’m so excited that Weds. night is Bark at the Park (ballpark).  All dogs, of course they say, well behaved dogs, are welcome.

I’ve driven all over town this a.m. looking for a ball cap for Sofi to wear to the ballgame.  There are none!!!  Yes, I could make one, but my machine has been in the shop for a week now.  So that’s not a possibility.

Since we have four dogs, we’re debating on whether to take 2 – it’s probably between Oliver and Derby; however, no matter where you take Oliver, he feels the need to poop – a lot of poop!  So it will probably be Sofi and Derby that get the honors.

I think I’ll need to take a baggie of miniature marshmallows to bribe them to be good!

  • Yesterday was close to being successful….. May 7, 2013
Yesterday we tried to do the unthinkable – getting 3 things accomplished!  When we first moved to Costa Rica, we were “warned” that if we got one thing on our list accomplished, to think of that as a successful day. I had a dental appointment at 2:50 p.m. in Escazu; went smoothly except I have […]

  • Happy May Day! May 1, 2013
Back in the old country when I was but a wee lass……May Day, May 1st, was a great holiday.  We spent the week before May 1st making May Day baskets.  Then we would fill them with candy, spring flowers, etc. – on May 1st, you would deliver your May Day baskets, hang them on the […]

Some friends, Frances and Peggy, went to Nicaragua last week for a few days of R & R and to feed the street dogs and to put flea and tick stuff on them.  Frances has Animal Lighthouse Rescue in Atenas. When they returned, I got a text from her saying she brought home a Momma […]

  • Going to Goa? Go In Off Season and Save April 4, 2013
Our friends Bill and Sandy just returned from a humongous trip that included Singapore and India and Bali and Australia. Don’t know about you, but just thought of planning for such a long trip – they were gone for about 8-9 weeks!  I would have to plan now if I wanted to take my dream […]
